Allegra Chance is part of Greenwich Villages 1924 jazzscene, but she ismore than a sophisticated flapper: shes a vampire who preys onthespeakeasy crowd. Unfortunately he, too, is an immortal, a werewolf anda member of the loup-garous, the vampiresmost hated enemy. The leeches and dogs have despised each other for centuries. When Griffins innocent teenage sister, Gemma, goes out looking for an adventure, she stumbles into a club full of mobsters, mortal and otherwise, and almost gets raped. Allegra takes her under her wing. Griffin doesnt appreciate Allegras efforts, but once hes near her, his body goes on red alert. Fate intervenes when two vampire masters start a major war. Griffin finds himself allied with Allegra, whom hes beginning to love.
